What is BTL Exilite (IPL) treatment?

IPL stands for intense pulsed light, and it is a form of light therapy, used for the treatment of various skin conditions. BTL EXILITE is a multi-application IPL device providing effective solution for treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions, acne, hair reduction and photo-rejuvenation. Customization of treatment settings enables effective, fast and tolerable treatments for different skin types.

How long does the treatment last?

Depending on which part of your body is being treated and how large the area is, the treatment should take 20 to 30 minutes. To get the results you want, you may need to have three to six treatments at 1 month interval.

How does BTL Exilite (IPL) work?

IPL Light penetrates down to the second layer of your skin (dermis) without harming the top layer (epidermis), so it causes less damage to your skin. Pigment cells in your skin absorb the light energy, which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwanted pigment to clear up freckles and other spots or hair follicles.

Does BTL Exilite (IPL) hurt?

No, Exilite IPL doesn't hurt but patients feel slight burning or pricking sensation. The internal cooling system in device prevents most discomfort and makes Exilite safe for all skin types. IPL-based technology is generally considered a safe procedure as potentially harmful ultraviolet radiation is typically filtered by blocking wavelengths below 500 nm.
